Robyn Cates

Originally from Oklahoma, Robyn earned her BS in Mathematics before moving to Indianapolis, where she built a career grounded in problem‑solving, leadership, and design. She spent more than a decade running her own consulting firm—supporting businesses and nonprofits through development strategy, grant writing, and long‑range planning—work that sharpened her ability to manage complex projects and communicate with clarity.

 

Robyn entered the landscape industry during COVID, quickly proving herself in project management roles where she oversaw installations, refined her eye for native plants, and deepened her understanding of residential design. Working directly alongside crews gave her a ground‑level view of the craft and shaped the intentional, people‑first culture she leads today.

 

She brings that blend of structure, creativity, and care into La Madrina Landscape—creating spaces, and teams, where high standards and genuine support go hand in hand.

Robyn brings that same intentionality into her personal life. She loves restoring her 100‑year‑old bungalow, hosting high tea for her daughter, snuggling with her foster dog, gathering friends around her table, and, of course, gardening—always creating spaces where people feel welcomed and at ease.
